Apple is rumored to unveil the iPhone 17 Air, its thinnest iPhone ever, with a sleek profile between 5.5mm and 6.25mm. It will sport a 6.6-inch display, positioning it between the Pro and Pro Max in screen size.
For the first time, every model in the iPhone 17 lineup may include a 120Hz ProMotion LTPO OLED display. This means smoother visuals and Always-On Display support, a feature previously exclusive to Pro variants.
The iPhone 17 series is expected to bring a fresh camera layout. The iPhone 17 Air may feature a vertical single-lens setup, while the Pro models could adopt a horizontal aluminum camera bar, replacing the traditional square design.
All iPhone 17 models are likely to come with a 48MP rear camera. The Pro Max version may also receive a 48MP telephoto lens. A new 24MP front camera with a six-element lens is expected to improve selfies and video calls for all devices.
Apple is expected to equip the standard iPhone 17 models with the A19 chip, while the Pro versions will get the more powerful A19 Pro. These chips, combined with up to 12GB RAM, will bring better speed, AI performance, and multitasking.
The iPhone 17 Air could debut Apple’s custom-built 5G modem, offering download speeds of up to 4Gbps. Additionally, the entire lineup may support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 for enhanced wireless performance.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max may shift from titanium to aluminum frames, featuring a hybrid back made of glass and metal. This marks the reintroduction of aluminum in high-end models since the iPhone X.
